Like all skateboard bearings, the ones for longboards are rollerbearings which consist of an outer race (ring), an inner race and the rolling elements (the balls). The highest quality bearings are made of ceramic materials especially for riders who want to go really fast. They offer a smoother roll, rust resistance and a lighter weight than steel models. Ceramic bearings are easy to clean and do also have a high heat resistance, which prevents them from deforming or softening during fast downhill runs.
